| Wise Data Recovery has an enormous number of supported interface languages: 41. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard has 20 interface languages and Disk Drill for Windows has 18. All newly tested programs (Speed Data Recovery, SFWare Data Recovery, iBoysoft Data Recovery) have only one interface language: English, which makes them less attractive for non-English speaking users. All but two programs in this review correctly recognized all tested localized characters in file and folder names. Wise Data Recovery and iBoysoft Data Recovery didn’t recognize the Russian, Arabian, Japanese, and Chinese characters, which were changed to "_". Since our last review: Disk Drill for Windows has received 17 new interface languages and has become one of the best multilingual program among all programs we’ve ever tested. | |||

| Recuva has returned and with its 30+ supported languages takes the first place again. Therefore, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard with its 20 supported languages has moved to the second place. On the other side, Disk Drill for Windows has only one interface language, which makes it less attractive for non-English speaking users. The rest of the evaluated programs support all major European languages, and many also support Japanese and Chinese. Only Premium Recovery Software couldn’t recognize non-Latin file names. It looks like this problem is inherited from its predecessor, Seagate Recovery Suite. All other products correctly recognized all tested localized characters in file and folder names. Since our last review: Raise Data Recovery: The Portuguese language has been added. Ontrack EasyRecovery Professional: 4 new languages have been added: German, Italian, French, and Spanish. | Recuva has an amazing number of supported languages: more than 30! EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, even with its 20 supported languages, has moved to the second place. Almost all the evaluated programs support all major European languages, and many also support Japanese and Chinese. There is only one exception: Active@ UNDELETE 12 and which has only one interface language: English. All products correctly recognized all tested localized characters in file and folder names. Recuva, with its more than 30 interface languages and all recognized non-Latin characters, wins the first place. Since our last review: EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard continues to improve its support for interface languages from 16 to 20. It also no longer has problems with non-Latin characters. Seagate Recovery Suite (when compared with Seagate File Recovery tested in 2016) added 3 interface languages. | |||

| EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard has a truly outstanding number of supported languages, and its number constantly increases. Almost all of the evaluated programs support all major European languages, and many also support Japanese and Chinese. There are only two exceptions: Active@ UNDELETE, Ontrack EasyRecovery Home, and Kernel for Windows Data Recovery which have only one interface language: English. Most of the products correctly recognized all tested localized characters in file and folder names. Only one program, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, had issues with non-Latin characters. *Since our last review: EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard greatly improved its support for interface languages from 10 to 16. Astonishingly, Ontrack EasyRecovery Home now has only one supported interface language: English. Its previous version, tested in 2014, had much better interface language support. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard continues to have problems with non-Latin characters, as it did in our last review. | |||
The localization support for each program was rated based on its supported interface languages and its ability to recognize localized file names when recovering data. For programs that support multiple language interfaces, we also evaluated the method for changing the language.
